For sometime now, Google has been busy refining or re-doing parts of its search engine algorithm to counter the challenge posed by Bing. To be honest, there is an assumption that the search will become more close to what Bing is offering. This means that you will need really good content alongside the backlinks to rank better. I do not think that the backlinks will be completely discounted, though I expect that the on-page factors will definitely gain in significance.
For webmasters who create good content and believe in quality of content, Google Caffeine is likely to improve their current exposure. What this means is that the search should provide us with more visitors and money, and all of us should hope to gain in our Bank balances!!!
